Isn't this just the cutest tree! I was shopping in a great gift shop and found this. The minute I saw it I knew I just had to have it. I don't know why, but it just absoluely grabbed my heart!

Spreading the cheer!

I got this fantastic Christmas CD from a friend at work yesterday. I have been getting ready for Christmas and listening to the music in the background...it's just perfect! I finally took a pic of the outside snowman basket to share and I took a pic of this sweet reindeer that just sets the mood for Christmas...I can't wait! Got to admit though, the scrapbooking has been put to the side BUT I got my hands on some awesome papers and embellies and I can hardly wait to scrap!

Christmas card 2009

As we draw closer to Christmas all the decorations are coming out. What a happy feeling to have all the cute trimmings hanging here and there. Last night hubby and I went and picked out our Christmas tree and put it up. The living room smells ever so sweetly of pine! I absolutely love that smell! I used some tree brances to decorate our porch basket with...the perfect outside touch for the yard. Tonight I am working on our family Christmas cards...a Christmas tree made from the form of our hands. I can't wait to send them! Fun, fun, fun!

It's beginning to look like Christmas

Well, we did it! We went shopping on Black Friday. Got to admit, we didn't go at 5AM, but we went. We got some sweat deals! This year it going to be less, but very nice. This year I'm also in the mood for homemade tags and painted wrapping paper...at least I'm going to give it a try!
Yesterday I put together this lo for a TSR challenge on my take for the sketch done by Julie Bonner. I had to go with my Christmas spirit and do a lo of Christmas ornaments that my children made when they were younger. As I put this together, I thought "this is what it's all about"! The kidos, family, and sharing memories!

Colors of Fall

This sweet scarecrow is part of our Fall decorations that we put out on our porch every year. My hubby, the girls and I made him a few years ago at an apple farm and lugged him home with us...what a great idea on their part and we are so lucky that we have him to display! Soon he will be going back into storage as we start to decorate for winter...wow, winter...where is the time going!

Whimsical greatfulness!

I love whimsical, playful pieces of art. To me they inspire happiness! When I created this lo, I had fun, carefree, simple childlike flair in mind. At this "Thanksgiving" time of year, this is just part of what I'm greatful to God for!

Embellishment cluster

Fun, fun, fun! That's how I would discribe making an embellishment cluster. I made this lo for a challenge on TSR blog. They discribe an embellishment cluster as 3 or more tiny embellies together. I put mine together at the top of the lo...this is something worth trying!

BG paper

Oh I just love the BG line of papers. I had made this coffee card out of mainly the Starbucks coffee holder and bag but I felt like it needed something. In my mind I visualized a green striped paper and then BG comes out with this...yes!
The pic isn't that great...hard to get it to look like a straight edge, but it is.

New scrap bag!

I am soooooooooo excited about my wonderful find this weekend...this adorable scrap bag! I went to a scrapbooking store with my sister and found this, one and only, scrap bag in the store. It's just absolutely adorable, has a great feel to it, not too big or too small, just perfect! The stash inside of it is some other wonderful finds that I purchased from the same store. Can't wait to scrap!

Beautiful!

Yippee! The leaves have been awesome...they provided shade all summer long and a brilliant display of color for Fall, but I must say that picking them up has become a real chore. As I look up I see trees with bare branches, and right now that's making me happy!
This picture captures the beauty of the pile, but the greatest treasure is what's peaking out of the leaves... my dd Jamie!

Are you hiding?

A big part of our life is our pets. They really bring a lot of joy to our everyday living, each with their own cute little personalities.
One day when our golden retriever, Aspen, was a puppy he started to play with an afgan blanket that we had. We were lucky enough to capture this adorable pic of him. I just couldn't help but not scrap it! When I look at this, all I can think of is that he was hiding from us, peeking out to see if we could see him....too funny!

Small feet going big places!

I held this paper in my hand and thought...what can I create with this? Right away I decided that I wanted to do a lo capturing our youngest daughter. Something free-spirited, like her, and something with feeling. I asked her to take this stance for me so that I could capture just that. I used a tea bag tag to write her name (upper rt. corner) and "Small feet going big places" was created...yup, that's her!

Blessings

My children are such an important part of my life and really add color and excitement to my everyday. All their actions give me something to scrap about. In this lo I felt like expressing how special they are to me. I'm also finding that I really enjoy using paint on my lo's...kinda like added flair without all the cost!

I really love art of any kind, but scrapping allows me to create a picture of my life... I am able to express what my eyes see, play with texture, and to show how the people and things that I love are all woven together.
